Save Sealer Review
I want something that looks presentable, my mum whispered to my ears. I searched the kitchen and as usual, I gave her a clean nylon with which she wrapped the veggies she got from the grocery store. This has been our usual way of preserving things until recently. I know she wanted more… something crisp.
Back in college, I loved chemistry. I was always ready and happy to give a detailed explanation to everyone at home, about the way everything around us affects us. Especially what we eat – food! Nothing satisfies me better than a good food.
I had always wondered how to extract the air trapped in the nylon we normally use to wrap things at home. With my knowledge of chemistry, I know that microorganisms require most of the things we humans need to grow. Things like oxygen. Oxygen is what we breath in, in the form of air. Some microorganisms make use of oxygen as well. They’re referred to as aerobes. When we go shopping, I take notice of how neatly wrapped the items on the shelf of most grocery store are. I’ve always thought they require some top expertise to do things like that.
What is SaveSealer?
Save Sealer is a safe handheld mini vacuum sealer that boasts the same accuracy and efficiency as those large, bulky sealers without any of the hassle. This product comes with a variety of different sized zip bags – just connect SaveSealer to the air valve to seal out oxygen and moisture within seconds.
The airtight seal guarantees that food stays fresher 5x longer than it would with saran wrap, foil or tupperware. Basically, this is a fancy device that looks like a printer and shrink-wraps your food.
How Save Sealer Works ?
Vacuum packing according to Wikipedia or sealing as I prefer to call it, is a method of packaging that removes air from the package prior to sealing. This method involves (manually or automatically) placing items in a plastic film package, removing air from inside and sealing the package. Shrink film is sometimes used to have a tight fit to the contents. The intent of vacuum packing is usually to remove oxygen from the container to extend the shelf life of foods and, with flexible package forms, to reduce the volume of the contents and package.
Vacuum packing reduces atmospheric oxygen, limiting the growth of aerobic bacteria or fungi, and preventing the evaporation of volatile components. It is also commonly used to store dry foods over a long period of time, such as cereals, nuts, cured meats, cheese, smoked fish, coffee, and potato chips (crisps). On a more short term basis, vacuum packing can also be used to store fresh foods, such as vegetables, meats, and liquids, because it inhibits bacterial growth.
Vacuum packing greatly reduces the bulk of non-food items. For example, clothing and bedding can be stored in bags evacuated with a domestic vacuum cleaner or a dedicated vacuum sealer. This technique is sometimes used to compact household waste, for example where a charge is made for each full bag collected.
Vacuum packaging products, using plastic bags, canisters, bottles, or mason jars, are available for home use.
For delicate food items which might be crushed by the vacuum packing process (such as potato chips), an alternative is to replace the interior gas with nitrogen. This has the same effect of inhibiting deterioration due to the removal of oxygen.
Types of Vacuum Sealers
According to WireCutter Reviews, There are (3) three main types of vacuum sealers: handheld valve sealers, external vacuum sealers, and chamber vacuum sealers. Here’s what you need to know about them:
Handheld vacuum sealers remove air through a valve on specialty zip-top bags. This model is portable, it has a good vacuum strength when compared to external and chamber vacuum sealers. And they’re by far the most popular choice for home use because they’re relatively small, affordable, and widely available.
When it comes to external vacuum sealers, you place the lip of the bag opening into a narrow chamber over the seal bar . After you shut the lid and lock it in place, the vacuum pump pulls air directly out of the bag. When most of the air is removed, the seal bar melts the plastic bag shut to seal the contents within. External models require using “quilted” bags so the air can be drawn through the material during the vacuuming process (you can purchase pre-made bags or continuous rolls that you cut to size). And you’ll need additional accessories if you want to seal things like Mason jars.
It is important to note that external models have less vacuum power than chamber sealers and are louder. You’ll also usually need to wait 20 to 60 seconds between sealings to avoid overheating the unit. And liquids need to be frozen before sealing to prevent moisture from being sucked into the vacuum motor and causing damage to the machine. But external vacuum sealers are sufficient for most tasks unless you’re planning to portion and package a lot of food at once.
With chamber vacuum sealers, you place the entire bag inside the chamber with its lip positioned over the seal bar. When you close the lid and turn on the vacuum pump, air is sucked out of the chamber, which removes all of the air from the bag. Once the air is removed, the machine heat-seals the bag, the pump stops, and normal air pressure returns to the chamber.
Chamber vacuum sealers have powerful motors that are quieter than external sealers. They’re best for extended use because they don’t require as long of a rest time in between sealings. Another advantage is that liquids don’t need to be frozen before sealing. Most models have a chamber large enough to fit pint Mason jars, so they don’t require any additional accessories to seal jars.
While chamber models have a lot of advantages over external machines, they are very expensive, heavy, and take up a lot of space. Some also require extra maintenance (such as oil for the pump), and most are intended for professional use. Unless you’re an avid hunter who wants to seal a lot of meat at once, we recommend getting a handheld vacuum sealer. (If a handheld vacuum sealer seems like a good fit for you, see below.

Components of SaveSealer
The SaveSealer system has two parts. And they are both important.
Sealeable plastic bag – SaveSealer
The first part is sealable plastic bags. They come in several different sizes. You just put meat or any other food into them, just like you would with a regular Ziploc bag.
The special thing is these bags have a little valve on them. And that’s where the second part of SaveSealer comes in.
Save Sealer Pump
Part two of the Save Sealer system is a little pump that connects to the valve on each bag. Click the pump into the little valve on the bag, press a button, and watch as the bag gets sucked in and clings tightly to the food you’ve stored inside. All the air has just been removed.
And you know what that means? That’s right. No air, no freezer burn. No freezer burn, and your food stays fresh and tasty instead of becoming disgusting. But that’s not all.
Save Sealer turns out to be a revolution in most kitchens. A trial was conducted, and two steaks were defrosted . They were sealed in Save Sealer bags. There was zero freezer burn. When they thawed, there was no runoff liquid and the color was a perfect red – this signifies quality and top hygiene.
So when I got home tonight, I seasoned them, and cooked them beautifully. They were absolutely delicious. Even my daughter had a few compliments for me.
It is important to note that SaveSealer do more than just eliminate freezer burn.
Best way to store steak with Save Sealer
You’ve probably heard of something called “freezer burn.” If you ever take frozen meat out and it’s got a fine layer of frost on it, then you’ve seen freezer burn.
Freezer burn happens because moisture is getting sucked out of your food and freezing on the surface of the meat. In essence, you’re taking that nice piece of meat and dehydrating it — making jerky out of it.
To make things worse, when you defrost your food, that frozen moisture melts and runs off. You’re left with a spongey, discolored piece of mush. Because of freezer burn, meat loses its flavor and texture. It becomes gross, as most persons usually say.
But here’s the crazy thing. Freezer burn doesn’t ALWAYS happen. I knew from occasional experience it’s possible to freeze meat and have it preserved perfectly. What was the difference those times?
How To Prevent Freezer Burn – Save Sealer
It turns out the real culprit is air. The more air your food is exposed to in the freezer… the more freezer burn you get.
I won’t get into the science of it. But basically, imagine a wet towel. If you bunch up that towel inside a plastic bag, the towel will stay wet for a long time. But spread the towel out in open air, and it will dry out quickly.
Something similar happens with the meat in your freezer. The dry freezer air wants to suck out as much moisture from your food as it can. It wants to ruin that steak you’ve been saving for a special occasion.
So if air is the real culprit behind freezer burn, can you guess what the solution is? Yep, it’s to get rid of all the air around your food. And here’s how you do that.
The Goldilocks solution
There are a lot of recommendations for getting rid of air around your frozen food.
Some people say to just use regular Ziploc bags, and squeeze out as much air as you can. But I tried this before and it didn’t work well. Even a little bit of air left in the bag could still cause freezer burn.
“Unfortunately, even the simplest vacuum sealer costs hundreds of dollars…”
Option two is to buy a vacuum sealer. Basically, this is a fancy device that looks like a printer and shrink-wraps your food. The trouble is, even the simplest vacuum sealer costs hundreds of dollars and is complicated to use. Both of these were a no-no for me.
And then there’s option three. It’s a kind of Goldilocks solution. It gets rid of all the air around your food, it eliminates freezer burn completely, and it’s very affordable and easy. It’s called SaveSealer.
Using Saran Wrap? You’d Might as Well Toss Your Money in the Trash!
People throw away over thousands of dollars worth of food every year. That’s because traditional preservation methods, such as plastic wrap, traps oxygen in and spoils food quickly.
But what if you had one simple way to seal out oxygen completely and lock in flavor instead? Imagine being able to enjoy leftovers that actually taste great. Like a domino effect, you reduce food waste in your household and end up saving money in the long run.
The Save Sealer is selling as the new efficient solution to store food, with an impenetrable vacuum seal that keeps food fresh 5x longer than Saran wrap.
A Customer Review on Save Sealer
A Save Sealer was sent to Wayne and was asked to put it to the test. Details of what happened.
Day 1 Save Sealer Reviews:
Yesterday, I brought home the most beautiful porterhouse steak I’ve ever laid eyes on. I decided to marinate it overnight inside a SaveSealer bag.
The set comes with different sized bags, and I chose the largest one. It’s really thick and didn’t have that nasty plastic smell, so I immediately felt good knowing that my meat wasn’t being exposed to harmful chemicals.
I added my secret marinade and then sealed the bag. I attached the vacuum to the air valve- perfect fit. It took under a minute to suck out all of the air.
Now, I’m writing this after devouring the steak for dinner. Wow…what an explosion of flavor! Every bite of meat was juicy and tender- as if it came straight from the butcher that day.
Day 4 Save Sealer Reviews:
I like to chop up my produce and store it in the fridge for fast meal prep during the week. Usually I store them in Ziploc Bags, but 90% of the time they end up wilted and discolored. This time however, I stored it in a SaveSealer bag.
Today when I made a salad for lunch, I couldn’t believe how crisp and crunchy the lettuce leaves were. I was sure my saved avocado halves would be brown after 3 days in the fridge…nope. They were creamy and delicious.
I can attest to the fact that this system definitely keeps oxygen out, my vegetables have never stayed fresh this long. If you eat avocados on everything like I do, you need this!
Day 7 Save Sealer Reviews:
After a week of using the SaveSealer, I have to tell you upfront that I’ve barely thrown any food away. That’s a first for me!
I used the bags to store meat, vegetables and leftovers. The hand held vacuum is super easy to use. I especially like that I can charge it with a USB cord instead of dealing with batteries or annoying wires.
The bags have a zip closure, so you can use them multiple times. When I needed to clean a bag, I just put it in the dishwasher and the air valve didn’t warp or stretch out. I can tell this company uses quality materials to make these bags.
Conclusion on Save Sealer Review:
In just a week I could already see a huge improvement with my saved food. No more force-feeding myself soggy salads! At first, I didn’t have any expectations, that this was just another kitchen appliance to collect dust in a cabinet. I couldn’t be more wrong. I ended up using the SaveSealer every single day. It’s fast, efficient and my food has never been fresher.
